Lilydale Free Range Chickens are raised and tended to by farmers who ensure they are fed a nutritious diet and take pride in their bird’s welfare. All farmers are committed to raising healthy free range chickens and are passionate about farming and growing good quality produce.
Lilydale’s free range chickens are fed specially formulated diets by designed by nutritionists. This ensures birds receive a vitamin enriched, nutritious and balanced diet comprised of quality cereal grains (such as wheat and sorghum) and protein meal. The diet is supplemented by vitamins, minerals and amino acids to achieve the birds optimum health and wellbeing.
In addition, chickens are free to forage for fresh vegetation whilst ranging.
Once fully feathered (around 21 days), Lilydale free range chickens, during daylight hours, have access to the outdoor range areas which include a variety of plants, shade huts and hay bales.
At night time and during extreme weather (hot or cold), chickens are housed in barns to keep them warm, comfortable and safe from predators.
Lilydale farms are accredited by Free Range Egg and Poultry Australia (FREPA) and are regularly audited, assuring you that you are buying free range chicken that meets the FREPA standard.
